Huawei Innovation Research Program

The HIRP FLAGSHIP program provides large and multi-year contract-based awards to support research that will significantly impact technology areas that are of mutual interest to both the academic community and Huawei.

Huawei invites leading-class, full-time faculty members from top universities and research institutes around the world to collaborate with Huawei in developing disruptive innovation.

Participation in the HIRP FLAGSHIP program is by invitation only. Joint research proposals from multiple universities are also welcome. Huawei does not accept unsolicited applications for HIRP FLAGSHIP.

This round of HIRP FLAGSHIP 2016 Special Focus on Future Network Theory supports innovation research only for U.S. university faculty, and the unrestricted fund budget is dependent on the scale of each topic. The research topics are focused on Future Network Theory, including but not limited to:

1. New information consumption models, network architectures and measurement metrics which can help to enable, enhance the control of large scale network, such as IoT, 5G and DC network.

2. Network automation enable technology, include measurement, network intelligence/machine learning, network programmable and network traffic control.

3. Network evolution model, network addressing and routing, new network business model for resource selling.
